Higher grade hardware for doors that need it.
Before we touch the lock, you know what it will cost.
Call if you need someone right now. Otherwise send this and we will contact you back.
Most doors are fine with standard hardware. Some are not. Ground floor entries, back doors onto alleys, storefronts and anything protecting equipment are worth more than the basic grade.
With a standard key, anyone can get a copy cut at a hardware store. A restricted key system works differently. The key blanks are not sold to the public, and new copies are only made for people the owner of the system has authorized. You always know how many keys exist.
Picking and bumping are the quiet ways into a standard lock. High security cylinders add parts that those methods do not move, and hardened inserts that make drilling slow and noisy.
For many homes, a good deadbolt installed properly, with a strong strike plate, is enough. High security makes sense where a door has been attacked before, where it protects stock or equipment, or where you need to control exactly who has a key.
Mostly three things. The cylinder resists picking and bumping, the key is restricted so it cannot be copied at a hardware store, and the parts resist drilling and force.
Doors that have been attacked before, storefronts, ground floor entries and anything that protects equipment or stock.
Yes, through the proper channel, which is the point. Copies are controlled instead of being cut anywhere.
